How to organize Serato crates on a Mac
To organize Serato crates on a Mac, open your Serato DJ Pro library in Crativity, then sort, rename and move your crates and reorder the tracks in them. If a change goes wrong, Undo takes most changes back in one step.
Steps
- Start Crativity. Open Crativity on the Mac where your Serato library lives. Requires macOS 12 or later and a Serato DJ Pro 3 library in your Music folder.
- Find the crate. Use the crate list to get to the crate you want to work on. Browse, search and sort your crates and subcrates.
- Arrange tracks and crates. Put tracks in the order you play them, and give crates names you can find in a hurry. Add, remove and reorder tracks. Make, rename, move and delete crates.
- Draft a set in the Workspace. Try out a set before you decide where it belongs. Workspace: a scratch crate that clears when you quit, or that you save as a crate.
- Undo a mistake. If something looks wrong, step back. Undo most changes in one step.
- Play in Serato DJ Pro. Open Serato DJ Pro when you are done and play from your crates. Crativity locks while Serato DJ Pro is open, and opens your library again when Serato quits.
Questions
Can I get back a crate I deleted by mistake?
Yes, Undo brings a deleted crate back in one step. Deleting a crate never deletes the music files in it.
What is the Workspace in Crativity?
The Workspace is a scratch crate for building a set. It clears when you quit, unless you save it as a crate.
Can I export a crate?
Crativity exports crates, and it can also show your Serato history and export that too.
Does Crativity run on Windows?
No, Crativity is for macOS only. It runs on macOS 12 or later.
